April 12, 2005 - Micro Power Named One of 200 Finalists for Red Herring Top 100 Private Firms
April 12, 2005 - Micro Power, the global leader in portable power solutions for mission-critical equipment, today announced that Red Herring magazine named it one of the two hundred Finalists for the Red Herring 100 Private Companies of North America award program. Over nine hundred nominations were submitted for consideration. The Red Herring Top 100 Private Companies will be unveiled at the Red Herring Spring 2005 conference on May 17, 2005 in Monterey, Calif. Dedicated to celebrating the most exciting private North American companies, the three-day conference will feature keynote speeches, lively dialogue and company presentations by the CEOs of the Red Herring 100.
“There were many strong candidates for the Red Herring Top 100 list this year, so making it onto the list is quite an achievement,” said Joel Dreyfuss, editor-in-chief of Red Herring. “In the post-bubble era, North American technology companies have focused on making sure management is strong and that the business model makes sense.
“We are proud to be the only Oregon-based company among an elite group of North American businesses considered for this award,” said Greg Love, CEO for Micro Power. “Our management team persevered to make Micro Power profitable with 2004 revenues exceeding $30 million, and we appreciate the recognition for this accomplishment from an established national business publication like Red Herring.”
The two hundred Finalists will be evaluated to determine the Red Herring Top 100 Private Companies that embody innovation, technology and strategy. The Red Herring editorial team has completed a thorough analysis of business model, competitive advantage, alliances, customers, and technology for each company.
