Micro Power, a supplier of custom battery systems for the portable medical, rugged handheld computing, and data collection equipment markets, moved its headquarters to a larger facility to accommodate ongoing engineering and production growth. The new, 65,000-square-foot facility is double the previous location. Beaverton-based Micro Power can now use 10 production lines and two shifts to continue to meet the increased demand for custom portable power systems from its customers in the medical, commercial military and data collection device markets.

Micro Power Electronics Inc. has moved its headquarters from Hillsboro to Tektronix's old headquarters in Beaverton, doubling the size of its facility. Micro Power manufactures custom battery packs for devices such as portable defibrillators, ultrasound machines and bar code scanning guns. The company, which was acquired last year by a private equity firm, Weston Presidio, has seen its revenue double in the past two years and expects to see sales increase 25 percent this year, from $40 million to $50 million, the company said.
